"Music is what life sounds like." ~Eric Olson.
It's hard to go through life without music. In television and movies, music helps carry the story. It's hard to be in a group of people without seeing multiple people with iPods, or other mp3 players. Music is the universal language, the same songs are sung in several languages. Instrumental music is played in countries as far away as Asia, yet heard in a city just miles away. Moods are affected by music. My life is filled with music every day, and one day it made perfect sense to share that musical life with children.
My name is Megan Stump, and I am a music teacher. I want to share with children of all ages my passion for music. I received my undergraduate degree in Music Education from Youngstown States University in Youngstown, OH. Since then I have taught two years in the Cleveland Municipal School District in Cleveland, OH, and most recently in Okinawa, Japan for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools. Currently, I am substituting at the Big Beaver Falls School District in Beaver Falls, Pa.
On this website, I have published my current resume, reference letters and phone numbers, as well as sample lesson plans and pictures from my previous teaching jobs. I hope to continue my education in music within the next year. I am currently certified in Pennsylvania in Music K-12, Mid-level Math 7-9 and Library Science K-12. I am waiting on confirmation for my certifications in Florida and North Carolina as well.
